About Us

Dr. Miroslava Lhotsky and Dr. Judy Turner established Mindfulness Meditation Toronto(MMT) in 2004 to answer the growing need of the Toronto community for professional, mindfulness-based programs.

Improve your performance at work and at home

They modelled MMT on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program developed in 1967 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. After attending a Professional Training Program in MBSR, Drs. Lhotsky and Turner added their experience and expertise in medicine and psychology to develop the particular programs of MMT. They also incorporate elements of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy(MBCT) into their teaching. Participants say that their sessions are marked by professionalism, humour and compassion.

The focus at MMT is to introduce people to the power of mindfulness in a safe, non-judgmental and comfortable environment. Students come from all walks of life, aged from eighteen to eighty and beyond.
